Share market update: PSU Bank shares dip; Syndicate Bank down over 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the negative zone in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Syndicate Bank (down 2.69 per cent) , Indian Bank (down 2.49 per cent) , Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 2.43 per cent) and Bank of India (down 2.31 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Central Bank of India (down 2.23 per cent), Vijaya Bank (down 2.18 per cent), Canara Bank (down 1.75 per cent) and State Bank of India (down 1.45 per cent) too were trading with losses.


The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.39 per cent down at 2855.45 around 10:28 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 71 points at 10,872.60 while the BSE Sensex was down 197.34 points at 36,349.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Sun TV, SBI, BHEL, LIC Housing Finance and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
