Share market update: PSU Bank shares dip; OBC down over 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the negative zone in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Union Bank of India (down 2.36 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 2.28 per cent), Bank of India (down 2.22 per cent) and Indian Bank (down 1.90 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Syndicate Bank (down 1.72 per cent), Canara Bank (down 1.64 per cent), Allahabad Bank (down 1.27 per cent) and Central Bank of India (down 1.17 per cent) too were trading with losses.


The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.20 per cent down at 3174.25 around 09:55 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 96.35 points at 11,656.45 while the BSE Sensex was down 276.55 points at 38,863.73.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, RIL, SAIL, SBI, Indian Oil Corp, DLF, HPCL and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
