Share market update: Private Bank shares mixed; YES Bank slips 5%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Private banks were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 2.54 per cent), DCB Bank (up 1.03 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 0.58 per cent) and Axis Bank (up 0.15 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

YES Bank (down 4.94 per cent), IDFC First Bank (down 1.10 per cent), RBL Bank (down 0.14 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (down 0.14 per cent) were trading with losses.


The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.44 per cent up at 16,929.35 around 12:43 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 13.45 points at 11,704.95 while the BSE Sensex was up 93.45 points at 39,139.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SAIL, PNB, IRB Infra Developers, Vodafone Idea, Indiabulls RE, Tata Motors, JSPL and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
