Share market update: Power shares mixed; JSW Energy dips 2%

NEW DELHI: Power shares were trading mixed with the S&P BSE Power index down 0.52 per cent at 1965.91 on Tuesday.

Shares of Adani Transmission (up 1.85 per cent), Adani Power (up 1.79 per cent), Suzlon Energy (up 1.10 per cent) and GMR Infrastructure (up 0.91 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

JSW Energy (down 2.03 per cent), KEC International (down 1.65 per cent), Thermax (down 1.31 per cent) and NTPC (down 1.11 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 46.90 points at 10,716.5 while BSE Sensex was down 118.78 points at 35,656.1 around 12:19 pm.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Kwality, YES Bank, Reliance Comm, JP Associates, Infibeam Avenues, Suzlon Energy, PC Jeweller, Adani Power, Hind Const Co, GMR Infra, Bank of Baroda, Jet Airways, PNB, Idea Cellular, Ashok Leyland, Dewan Housing and Bank of India were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
