Share market update: Power shares fall; Siemens down 4%

NEW DELHI: Power shares were trading in the red with the S&P BSE Power index down 1.44 per cent at 1949.05 around 02:04 pm on Monday.

Shares of Siemens (down 4.14 per cent), Torrent Power (down 3.93 per cent), GMR Infrastructure (down 3.27 per cent) and JSW Energy (down 3.11 per cent) were trading in the red.

Adani Power (down 2.60 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (down 2.19 per cent), CG Power and Industrial Solutions (down 1.94 per cent) and Suzlon Energy (down 1.77 per cent) too were among the worst performers in the index.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 64.95 points at 10,520.25 while BSE Sensex was 219.21 points at 34939.34 at that time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of Infibeam Avenues, PC Jeweller, Reliance Communications, JP Associates, Tata Steel, YES Bank, SBI, Dewan Housing, South Indian Bank, GMR Infra, Ashok Leyland, Adani Ports SEZ, Tata Motors, HCC, JSPL, Suzlon Energy and Jain Irrigation were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
