Share market update: Pharma shares rise; Sun Pharma gains 2%

NEW DELHI: Pharma shares were trading higher in Friday's session with their sectoral index trading higher.

Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 2.06 per cent) , Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 1.18 per cent) , Alkem Laboratories (up 0.9 per cent) , Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.82 per cent) , Lupin (up 0.47 per cent) and Divis Laboratories (up 0.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.85 per cent up at 10163.95 around 12:23PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 83.70 points at 10112.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 193.0 points at 34173.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Trident Ltd, Tata Power, BHEL, PNB and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
