Share market update: Pharma shares rise; Aurobindo Pharma surges 17%

NEW DELHI: Pharma shares were trading in the positive zone in Tuesday's session with their sectoral index trading higher.

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma (up 16.78 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 4.36 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (up 3.75 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 3.7 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 3.55 per cent), Lupin (up 3.09 per cent), Cipla (up 3.06 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 2.39 per cent), Biocon (up 0.61 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 3.65 per cent up at 9483.4 around 12:11PM .


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down -257.30 points at 9004.55 , while the BSE Sensex was -928.59 points at 30719.41 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Idea Cellular, YES Bank, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Vedanta , SBI, Aurobindo Pharm, JSPL and Sun Pharma were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
