Share market update: Pharma shares bullish; Piramal rises nearly 3%

NEW DELHI: Pharma shares were trading higher with the Nifty Pharma index up 0.36 per cent at 9046.9 on Thursday.

Shares of Piramal Enterprises (up 2.91 per cent), Cipla (up 1.75 per cent), Lupin (up 1.72 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (up 1.12 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Biocon (up 0.64 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (up 0.48 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.12 per cent) too were trading in the green.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 89.80 points at 10,818.65 while BSE Sensex was up 321.2 points at 36,038.15 around 12:36 pm.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, ICICI Bank, L&T Fin Holding, Idea Cellular, Indian Oil Corp, ONGC, NTPC, Axis Bank, Vedanta and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
