Share market update: OMCs trade in the red; HPCL down 2%
NEW DELHI: OMCs were trading in the red in Friday's session following a 3 per cent spike in crude oil prices on rising tensions in the Middle-East.

Brent crude futures jumped close to $3 to their highest since September after a US air strike killed key Iranian and Iraqi military personnel, raising concerns that escalating Middle East tensions may disrupt oil supplies.

Shares of HPCL (down 2.13 per cent) , Bharat Petroleum Corporation (down 1.45 per cent) , Indraprastha Gas (down 1.44 per cent) , Indian Oil Corporation (down 0.28 per cent) , Reliance Industries (down 0.14 per cent) and Castrol India (down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


While shares of Gujarat State Petronet (up 3.4 per cent) , GAIL (India) (up 1.98 per cent) , Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (up 1.95 per cent) and Petronet LNG (up 0.86 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 0.1 per cent up at 14849.16 around 10:51 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 37.30 points at 12244.9 , while the BSE Sensex was down 110.75 points at 41,515.89.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, GMR Infra, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, Hind Copper, ONGC and NCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
