Share market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1%; Piramal Enterprises, Aurobindo Pharma shares in red

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.69 per cent down at 9,768.45 around 11:44 am on Wednesday with most of its components trading in red.

Piramal Enterprises (down 5.38 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 1.92 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (down 1.68 per cent) and Cadila Healthcare (down 0.91 per cent), were the top losers in the pharma pack.

Divi's Laboratories (down 0.73 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.36 per cent), Lupin (down 0.34 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 0.23 per cent), too, appeared among top laggards.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 11.35 points at 10,573.4 while the BSE Sensex was up 35.49 points at 35,197.97 at that time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Infosys, Bank of Baroda, SBI, ICICI Bank, Ashok Leyland, ITC, L&T Fin Holding and RIL were among most traded shares on the NSE.
