Share market update: Nifty IT index trades lower; Infibeam Avenues slips 3%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index was trading 1.43 per cent down at 13,869.35 around 10:31 am with most of its components trading in the red.

Shares of Infibeam Avenues (down 3.08 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 2.35 per cent), Tata Elxsi (down 2.07 per cent) and Infosys (down 1.84 per cent) appeared among top laggards.

Tata Consultancy Services (down 1.58 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.56 per cent) and MindTree (down 1.36 per cent) too were among the top losers in the index.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 54.25 points at 10,070.65 while BSE Sensex was down 156.32 points at 33,533.77 at that time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, BHEL, Ambuja Cements, SBI, Tata Motors, Hindalco Inds., Idea Cellular, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank and Vedanta were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
