Share market update: Nifty Financial Services index up; REC jumps 6%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Financial Services index was up with its components trading higher in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of REC (up 6.08 per cent) , Shriram Transport Finance (up 5.82 per cent) , Power Finance Corporation (up 5.51 per cent) , Mahindra & Mahindra Financial (up 5.37 per cent) , Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (up 3.43 per cent) , ICICIGI (up 2.11 per cent) , ICICIPRULI (up 1.34 per cent) , Bajaj Holdings & Investment (up 1.17 per cent) , HDFC LIFE INSURANCE (up 1.0 per cent) , Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up 0.99 per cent) , ICICI Bank (up 0.77 per cent) , HDFC (up 0.69 per cent) , Bajaj Finserv (up 0.46 per cent) , Axis Bank (up 0.37 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 0.2 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Financial Services index was trading 0.44 per cent up at 14281.5 around 11:57 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 34.90 points at 12014.55 , while the BSE Sensex was up 109.02 points at 40898.4 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Zee Ent., Tata Global Bev, Bharti Airtel, PNB, REC, SBI and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
