Share market update: Nifty Financial Services index up; Indiabulls Housing surges 14%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Financial Services index was up with its components trading higher in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up 13.7 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance (up 3.39 per cent), ICICIPRULI (up 2.26 per cent), REC (up 2.04 per cent), Power Finance Corporation (up 1.74 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.5 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial (up 1.41 per cent), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (up 1.2 per cent), Axis Bank (up 1.19 per cent), Edelweiss Financial Services (up 1.02 per cent), Bajaj Finserv (up 0.27 per cent), ICICIGI (up 0.17 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 0.13 per cent), Bajaj Finance (up 0.04 per cent), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE (up 0.03 per cent) and SBI Life (up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Financial Services index was trading 0.13 per cent up at 14538.75 around 11:37 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 5.30 points at 12131.20, while the BSE Sensex was up 9.23 points at 41332.23.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Max Financial Services, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Tata Power, SAIL and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
