Share market update: Nifty Commodities index gains; Coal India climbs 2%

The Nifty Commodities index was trading 0.45 per cent up at 3516.95.

Coal India (up 2.14 per cent), The Ramco Cements Ltd (up 1.88 per cent) and National Mineral Development Corp (up 1.86 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Commodities index was trading on a positive note in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Coal India (up 2.14 per cent), The Ramco Cements Ltd (up 1.88 per cent), National Mineral Development Corp (up 1.86 per cent), Tata Chemicals (up 1.59 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (up 1.39 per cent), PI Industrial (up 1.08 per cent), Dalmia Bharat (up 0.99 per cent), ONGC (up 0.97 per cent) and UltraTech Cement (up 0.89 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While UPL Ltd (down 1.19 per cent), Steel Authority of India (down 1.1 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 0.93 per cent), Vedanta (down 0.63 per cent), JSW Steel (down 0.63 per cent), Hindalco Industries (down 0.4 per cent) and Hindustan Zinc (down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Commodities index was trading 0.45 per cent up at 3516.95 around 12:03 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty-50 index was up 71.40 points at 12328.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 275.1 points at 41874.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Infosys, Tata Motors, SAIL, BHEL, SBI, Bank of Baroda, Indiabulls Housing Finance and PowerGrid Corp were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
