Share market update: Mining stocks slip; NMDC down over 3%

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Aro Granite Industries (down 5.16 per cent), Pacific Industries (down 4.19 per cent), Ashapura Minechem (down 4.03 per cent), Divyashakti Granites (down 3.86 per cent), Inani Marbles (down 3.81 per cent), NMDC Ltd (down 3.18 per cent), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores (down 2.39 per cent), SVC Resources (down 1.89 per cent), TERRASCOPE VENTURES (down 1.83 per cent) and MOIL (down 1.78 per cent) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 79.20 points down at 12169.05, while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 262.13 points at 41351.06 at around 02:17 pm.


Mahindra & Mahindra (up 1.95 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 1.23 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 1.0 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.85 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.74 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.64 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 0.54 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.51 per cent), Asian Paints (up 0.47 per cent) and Nestle India (up 0.22 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Steel (down 3.46 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 2.42 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 2.11 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (down 1.75 per cent), State Bank of India (down 1.68 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 1.5 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.4 per cent), HDFC (down 1.36 per cent), ITC (down 0.88 per cent) and NTPC (down 0.83 per cent) were trading in the red.
