Share market update: Metal shares mixed; MOIL dips over 2%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of APL Apollo Tubes (up 3.14 per cent) , Welspun Corp (up 1.34 per cent) , Coal India (up 1.32 per cent) , Jindal Steel & Power (up 1.23 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (up 0.33 per cent) , VEDL (up 0.32 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While MOIL (down 2.42 per cent) , National Mineral Development Corp (down 1.87 per cent) , Tata Steel (down 1.4 per cent) , Hindustan Copper (down 0.98 per cent) , Hindustan Zinc (down 0.95 per cent) , JSW Steel (down 0.72 per cent) , Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (down 0.36 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.1 per cent down at 2833.1 around 10:33 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 31.15 points at 12193.4 , while the BSE Sensex was down 127.17 points at 41,401.74.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Federal Bank, Indian Oil Corp, SBI, Bharti Infratel, JSPL, SAIL, Bharti Airtel and NBCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
