Share market update: Metal shares decline; JSPL slips nearly 3%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading lower in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (down 2.80 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (down 2.33 per cent), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 2.12 per cent) and Welspun Corp (down 1.28 per cent) were trading lower.

Tata Steel (down 1.12 per cent), JSW Steel (down 1.00 per cent), Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (down 0.94 per cent) and NMDC (down 0.90 per cent) too were trading in the red.


The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.60 per cent down at 3083 around 10:40 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 0.30 points at 11,604.20 while the BSE Sensex was up 31.40 points at 38,731.93.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, SBI, DLF, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SAIL, Indian Oil Corp, Ashok Leyland, Wipro, BHEL, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and RIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
