Share market update: Metal shares decline; JSPL dips 2%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading lower in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (down 2.17 per cent), Vedanta (down 1.57 per cent), Tata Steel (down 1.39 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (down 0.95 per cent) were trading with losses.

Hindustan Zinc (down 0.51 per cent), National Aluminium Company (down 0.47 per cent), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 0.27 per cent) and Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (down 0.23 per cent) too were trading in the red.


The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.60 per cent down at 3023.65 around 10:47 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.85 points at 11,606.80 while the BSE Sensex was up 99.92 points at 38,664.80.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, YES Bank, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, SBI, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, Bank of Baroda, SAIL, DLF, ICICI Bank, Wipro and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
