Share market update: Metal shares bullish; JSPL jumps 3%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading in the green in Friday's morning session.

Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (up 3.06 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (up 2.96 per cent), MOIL (up 2.51 per cent) and Welspun Corp (up 1.94 per cent) were trading higher.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 1.43 per cent), Hindustan Copper (up 1.25 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.05 per cent) and JSW Steel (up 0.82 per cent) too were trading with gains.


The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.35 per cent up at 2831.90 around 10:42 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 31.10 points at 11,688.15 while the BSE Sensex was up 111.25 points at 38,922.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of GRUH Finance, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, Adani Power, BEL, Ashok Leyland, Adani Enterprises, Dish TV India and ZEEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
