Share market update: Media shares up; Dish TV jumps 6%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with gains in Friday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dish TV India (up 5.86 per cent) , Sun TV Network (up 2.84 per cent) , DB Corp (up 2.11 per cent) and Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 1.65 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Eros International Media (up 1.05 per cent) , Inox Leisure (up 0.66 per cent) and TV Today Network (up 0.23 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty Media index was trading 0.68 per cent up at 1735.85 around 11:57 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 6.65 points at 11,575.95 while the BSE Sensex was down 24.89 points at 38,995.50.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, SBI, ITC, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, Bharti Infratel and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
