Share market update: Media shares trade lower; Den Networks plunges nearly 7%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the negative zone in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Den Networks (down 6.82 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 4.33 per cent), Dish TV India (down 3.70 per cent) and Eros International Media (down 3.11 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

DB Corp (down 2.27 per cent), TV Today Network (down 2.12 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (down 1.27 per cent) and Sun TV Network (down 1.27 per cent) too were trading with losses.


The Nifty Media index was trading 1.01 per cent down at 2122.15 around 12:41 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 21.45 points at 11,126.75 while the BSE Sensex was down 75.13 points at 37,015.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, DHFL, PNB, SAIL, BHEL, Bank of Baroda, Dish TV India and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
