Share market update: Media shares jump; ZEEL surges 11%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the green in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Zee Entertainment (up​ 10.9 per cent)​, Sun TV Network (up​ 10.52 per cent)​, TV Today Network (up​ 9.8 per cent)​, TV18 Broadcast (up​ 8.48 per cent)​, Hathway Cable & Datacom (up​ 5.06 per cent)​, Network 18 Fincap (up​ 4.96 per cent)​, Dish TV India (up​ 4.88 per cent)​, Navneet Education Ltd (up​ 3.53 per cent)​, Jagran Prakashan (up​ 3.24 per cent)​ and DB Corp (up​ 1.96 per cent)​ were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Media index was trading 4.96 per cent up at 1036.15 around 01:59 pm.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 611.05 points at 8694.85 , while the BSE Sensex was up 2120.31 points at 29711.26 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 49 were trading in the green, while 1 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, ICICI Bank, JSPL, NTPC, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
