Share market update: Media shares gain; ZEEL rises over 3%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the positive zone in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of Saregama India (up 4.92 per cent) , Zee Entertainment (up 3.24 per cent) , Sun TV Network (up 1.19 per cent) , Zee Media Corporation Ltd (up 0.91 per cent) , Inox Leisure (up 0.43 per cent) , TV Today Network (up 0.43 per cent) , DB Corp (up 0.34 per cent) , Balaji Telefilms (up 0.09 per cent) and PVR (up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Media index was trading 0.83 per cent up at 1779.3 around 12:05 pm.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 53.80 points at 12,142.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 182.06 points at 41,324.72.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Zee Ent., SBI, JSPL, ITC, SAIL and DLF were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
