Share market update: Media shares gain; TV18 Broadcast jumps 7%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with gains in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of TV18 Broadcast (up 7.60 per cent) , Network 18 Media & Investments (up 5.54 per cent) , Eros International Media (up 3.58 per cent) and Inox Leisure (up 3.13 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

TV Today Network (up 1.94 per cent) , Dish TV India (up 1.72 per cent) , Zee Media Corporation (up 0.44 per cent) and Navneet Education (up 0.25 per cent) too were trading with gains.


The Nifty Media index was trading 0.55 per cent up at 1927.55 around 01:51 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 85.70 points at 10,990.20 while the BSE Sensex was down 283.90 points at 37,101.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Equitas Holdings, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, BPCL, SAIL, Dish TV India, Indian Oil Corp and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
