Share market update: Media shares gain; Dish TV surges 17%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with gains in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dish TV India (up 16.67 per cent) , Jagran Prakashan (up 7.23 per cent) , Zee Entertainment Enterprises (up 6.77 per cent) and Zee Media Corporation (up 4.46 per cent) were trading in the green.

Sun TV Network (up 1.84 per cent) , Inox Leisure (up 1.56 per cent) , TV18 Broadcast (up 0.66 per cent) and PVR (up 0.42 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty Media index was trading 3.45 per cent up at 1867.20 around 12:07 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 85.45 points at 12025.55 , while the BSE Sensex was up 304.27 points at 40773.97 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, Bank of Baroda, Ashok Leyland, SBI, SAIL, Bharti Infratel, ZEEL and RIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
