Share market update: Media shares decline; ZEEL slips over 3%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the red in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Zee Entertainment (down 3.11 per cent), Dish TV India (down 3.05 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 2.95 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (down 2.56 per cent), Sun TV Network (down 2.11 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (down 1.46 per cent), TV Today Network (down 1.15 per cent), Inox Leisure (down 1.03 per cent), Saregama India (down 0.45 per cent) and DB Corp (down 0.34 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.46 per cent down at 1842.75 around 11:53 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 58.90 points at 12293.45 , while the BSE Sensex was down 185.15 points at 41,760.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Indian Oil Corp, Bharti Airtel, PowerGrid, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland and NMDC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
