Share market update: Media shares decline; ZEEL down 3%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with losses in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Zee Entertainment (down 2.82 per cent) , Jagran Prakashan (down 2.07 per cent) , Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 1.7 per cent) , Dish TV India (down 1.48 per cent) , TV18 Broadcast (down 1.38 per cent) , Sun TV Network (down 1.3 per cent) , Music Broadcast (down 1.22 per cent) , Inox Leisure (down 0.41 per cent) , Saregama India (down 0.4 per cent) and DB Corp (down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.19 per cent down at 1754.65 around 12:12 pm.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 48.40 points at 11,889.10, while the BSE Sensex was down 156.74 points at 40,330.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Zee Ent., Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, RBL Bank, SAIL and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
