Share market update: Media shares decline; Dish TV slumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with losses in Friday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dish TV India (down 4.70 per cent), Sun TV Network (down 3.17 per cent), PVR (down 1.23 per cent) and DB Corp (down 1.18 per cent) were trading with losses.

Den Networks (down 0.79 per cent), Navneet Education (down 0.70 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (down 0.55 per cent) and Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 0.15 per cent) too were trading in the red.


The Nifty Media index was trading 0.53 per cent down at 1882.10 around 12:03 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 60.85 points at 10,887.45 while the BSE Sensex was down 196.37 points at 36,872.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SAIL, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, SBI, JSPL, Ashok Leyland and Dish TV India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
