Share market update: Media shares decline; Dish TV slips 4%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with losses in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dish TV India (down 3.88 per cent), DB Corp (down 2.25 per cent), Inox Leisure (down 1.90 per cent) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises (down 1.84 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 1.63 per cent), PVR (down 1.49 per cent), Den Networks (down 1.02 per cent) and Sun TV Network (down 0.74 per cent) too were trading in the red.


The Nifty Media index was trading 1.33 per cent down at 1889.10 around 12:17 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 130.20 points at 10,893.05 while the BSE Sensex was down 431.43 points at 36,901.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, PNB, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Dish TV India, Union Bank India, SAIL and Canara Bank were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
