NEW DELHI: Benchmark indices, NSE Nifty and BSE Sensex, surged in afternoon trade on Tuesday after Chinese Foreign Ministry spoke of mutual beneficiary agreement between US President Trump & his Chinese counterpart.

The NSE Nifty 50 index was trading 36.40 points up at 10,665, while the 30-share Sensex was trading 107.91 points up at 35,461.99 on Tuesday.

VIP Industries (up 6.45 per cent) , DCM Shriram (up 5.51 per cent) , Vakrangee (up 4.89 per cent) , Navin Fluorine (up 4.68 per cent) and IRB Infra Developers (up 4.41 per cent) were the major gainers on the BSE.


Sectorwise, Office Equipments, Infrastructure, Plastics, Information Technology and Leather sector-related stocks were the major gainers on the bourses in the afternoon trade.

On the BSE, T & I Global, VCK Cap Market, Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company, Shree Metalloys and Cybele Industries touched their fresh 52-week high in today's trade.

Most active stocks of the day on the BSE by turnover were South Indian Bank, YES Bank, Reliance Communications, Suzlon Energy and JP Associates.
