Share market update: IT shares slip; Tata Elxsi down 1%

NEW DELHI: Most IT shares were trading lower in Friday's morning session.

Shares of Tata Elxsi (down 1.25 per cent), Infibeam Avenues (down 1.02 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (down 0.43 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.23 per cent), Infosys (down 0.21 per cent) and Wipro (down 0.05 per cent) too were trading in the red.


Meanwhile, the Nifty IT index was trading 0.16 per cent up at 16,112.20 around 10:32 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 67.80 points at 11,001.60 while the BSE Sensex was down 220.52 points at 36,750.57.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, SAIL, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SBI, L&T Fin Holding and Motherson Sumi were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
