Share market update: IT shares mixed; Tata Elxsi, TCS among top gainers

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Tata Elxsi (up 1.75 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 1.55 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 1.20 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (up 0.23 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Infibeam Avenues (down 2.12 per cent), Infosys (down 1.35 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 0.84 per cent) and MindTree (down 0.33 per cent) were trading lower.


The Nifty IT index was trading 0.18 per cent down at 15,581.55 around 10:27 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 5.55 points at 10,729.90 while the BSE Sensex was down 19.02 points at 35,737.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodaofone Idea, SAIL, ICICI Bank, Vedanta, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, ONGC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
