Share market update: IT shares in the red; Infosys slips 4%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the red in Thursday's session.

Shares of Infosys (down 4.34 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (down 3.84 per cent) , NIIT Technologies (down 3.58 per cent) , Mindtree (down 3.07 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (down 2.6 per cent) , Wipro (down 1.42 per cent) and HCL Technologies (down 0.71 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 2.84 per cent down at 13386.05 around 12:07PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 172.75 points at 9210.8, while the BSE Sensex was 629.71 points at 31378.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of BHEL, Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, Adani Power, Tata Motors, Vedanta , SBI, NBCC and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
