Share market update: IT shares in the green; TCS up 2%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the green in Friday's session.

Shares of Tata Consultancy Services (up 1.8 per cent) , Mindtree (up 1.66 per cent) , MPhasis (up 1.61 per cent) , NIIT Technologies (up 1.51 per cent) , HCL Technologies (up 1.41 per cent) , Just Dial (up 1.04 per cent) , Wipro (up 0.71 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 0.7 per cent) , Infosys (up 0.54 per cent) and Info Edge (India) (up 0.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty IT index was trading 1.1 per cent up at 15288.8 around 12:00PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 71.80 points at 10623.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 239.4 points at 36083.1.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Motherson Sumi, BHEL, Tata Motors, Tata Power, BEL, SBI, Alok Industries and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
