Share market update: IT shares in the green; NIIT Tech jumps over 6%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the green in Tuesday's session.

Shares of NIIT Technologies (up 6.6 per cent) , Infosys (up 2.21 per cent) , Info Edge (India) (up 1.74 per cent) , Mindtree (up 1.51 per cent) , Wipro (up 1.3 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 0.56 per cent) and MPhasis (up 0.26 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 15578.55 around 11:56AM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 48.45 points at 10715.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 123.83 points at 36363.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Tata Motors, NBCC , SAIL, M&M Financial, Ashok Leyland, RBL Bank Ltd., SBI and Bandhan Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
