Share market update: IT shares in the green; Mindtree climbs 5%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the green in Wednesday's session.
Shares of Info Edge (India) (up 6.59 per cent), Mindtree (up 4.96 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 3.7 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 3.16 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 2.01 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 1.92 per cent), Infosys (up 1.47 per cent), MPhasis (up 0.78 per cent) and Wipro (up 0.58 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty IT index was trading 2.32 per cent up at 12896.05 around 12:16 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 239.20 points at 9233.05 , while the BSE Sensex was up 772.33 points at 31462.35 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, YES Bank, Hindalco Inds., ITC, Motherson Sumi, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
