Share market update: IT shares in the green; HCL Tech rises 3%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading higher in Monday's session.

Shares of HCL Technologies (up 3.38 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (up 3.27 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 2.81 per cent) , Wipro (up 2.35 per cent) , NIIT Technologies (up 2.2 per cent) , Just Dial (up 1.68 per cent) , Infosys (up 1.58 per cent) , Mindtree (up 0.94 per cent) , Info Edge (India) (up 0.9 per cent) and MPhasis (up 0.6 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty IT index was trading 2.6 per cent up at 14374.95 around 12:16PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 334.10 points at 9914.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 1184.6 points at 33608.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Adani Power, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Tata Motors, BHEL, Tata Power, PNB and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
