Share market update: IT shares gain; Wipro rises over 1%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the positive zone in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Wipro (up 1.31 per cent), Infosys (up 1.28 per cent) and Infibeam Avenues (up 0.82 per cent) HCL Technologies (up 0.68 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Tata Consultancy Services (up 0.46 per cent), Mindtree (up 0.28 per cent) and NIIT Technologies (up 0.06 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty IT index was trading 0.59 per cent up at 15,870.45 around 10:11 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 10.50 points at 11,167.50 while the BSE Sensex was up 40.87 points at 37,155.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, DHFL, PC Jeweller, Dish TV India, Tata Global Beverages, Motherson Sumi, ZEEL and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
