Share market update: IT shares advance; Infibeam Avenues climbs over 5%

NEW DELHI: IT shares advanced with the Nifty IT index trading higher in Tuesday's morning trading session.

Shares of Infibeam Avenues (up 5.48 per cent), Wipro (up 2.99 per cent), Infosys (up 2.52 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 1.57 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Tata Consultancy Services (up 1.05 per cent), Tata Elxsi (up 0.70 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.64 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty IT index index was trading 1.61 per cent up at 14,452.4 around 10:36 am on Tuesday.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 87.35 points at 10,824.95 while the BSE Sensex was up 291.97 points at 36,145.53.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Infosys, Wipro, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, RIL, ICICI Bank and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
