Share market update: IT shares advance; Infibeam Avenues climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading higher in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Infibeam Avenues (up 4.03 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (up 2.45 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.79 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 1.26 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Wipro (up 1.25 per cent), Tata Elxsi (up 1.21 per cent), Mindtree (up 0.45 per cent) and NIIT Technologies (up 0.40 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty IT index was trading 0.37 per cent up at 15,970.40 around 10:24 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.10 points at 11,673.55 while the BSE Sensex was up 107.60 points at 38,874.71.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, Infosys, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Vodafone Idea, ITC, DLF, SBI, YES Bank and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
