Share market update: Infra stocks trade lower; Bharti Infratel slumps 7%

NEW DELHI: Shares of infrastructure companies were trading in the negative zone in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Vodafone Idea (down 10.90 per cent), Bharti Infratel (down 7.34 per cent), Reliance Infrastructure (down 4.98 per cent) and Reliance Power (down 4.29 per cent) were trading in the red.

Suzlon Energy (down 4.26 per cent), InterGlobe Aviation (down 3.91 per cent), NCC (down 3.71 per cent) and Adani Power (down 3.53 per cent) too were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Infrastructure index was trading 1.09 per cent down at 3297.10 around 12:32 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 69.55 points at 11,978.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 187.30 points at 40,614.87.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JSPL, SBI, Bharti Infratel, SAIL, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors and ZEEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
