Share market update: Colgate, L&T among top gainers on BSE
Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 38 shares were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

NEW DELHI: The domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 947.40 points up at 38,962.02 on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Shares of McDowell Holdings (up 19.89 per cent) , Vaswani Industries (up 18.85 per cent), Mafatlal Industries (up 18.48 per cent), Cosco (India) (up 17.31 per cent), Porwal Auto Comp (up 16.04 per cent) , Garnet Constructions (up 15.87 per cent), Autoline Industries (up 15.49 per cent), Talbros Engineering (up 14.35 per cent), Nahar Poly Film (up 13.70 per cent), Orbit Exports (up 13.24 per cent), Colgate-Palmolive (up 12.25 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro (up 7.66 per cent) were among the top performers.
The Nifty 50 index was trading 284 points up at 11,558.20.
