Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 45 shares were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.
NEW DELHI: The domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 645.31 points up at 30539.27 on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Shares of IOL Chemicals (up 20.00 per cent), Skipper Ltd (up 20.00 per cent), Pentamedia Graph (up 20.00 per cent), Aarey Drugs (up 20.00 per cent), Maan Aluminium (up 19.97 per cent), Khaitan Chem (up 19.97 per cent), Gujarat Auto (up 19.97 per cent), Super Crop Safe (up 19.96 per cent), Ortin Labs (up 19.95 per cent), Patel Engg (up 19.95 per cent), Cipla (up 12.38 per cent) and Lupin (up 10.87 per cent) were among the top performers.
The Nifty 50 index was trading 190.75 points up at 8939.50 .
