Share market update: Check out the stocks that plunged up to 10% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: Domestic equity market was radiating bearish sentiment in Wednesday's session amid weak global cues and rupee's fresh fall against the US dollar.

The Indian rupee Wednesday crashed below the 73-mark against the dollar for the first time ever on strong demand for the American currency from importers amid rising global oil prices and unabated capital outflows.

Sustained capital outflow, surging crude oil prices and rupee's poor health weighed on market sentiment.


Mirroring the market mood, shares of Ashapura Intimates Fashion (down 9.99 per cent) and J Kumar Infraprojects (down 9.84 per cent) plunged up to 10 per cent on NSE.

Max Financial Services (down 7.10 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 5.58 per cent), Indiabulls Ventures (down 5 per cent), SORIL Infra Resources (down 5 per cent), SORIL Holdings and (down 5 per cent), Bombay Dyeing (down 4.99 per cent), Ramky Infra (down 4.99 per cent) and 8K Miles Soft (down 4.98 per cent) declined 5 per cent.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 82 points down at 10,927, while the BSE Sensex was down 242 points at 36,284 around 11:05 am.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

YES Bank, Vedanta, Hindalco Industries, HPCL and Bajaj Finance were among the Nifty gainers.

Eicher Motors, Bharti Infratel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Grasim Industries and Tata Consultancy Services were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
