Share market update: Cement stocks surge; Visaka Ind, Indian Hume Pipe among top gainers

NEW DELHI: Most of the cement stocks were trading in the green in Wednesday's afternoon trade on BSE.

Visaka Industries (up 5.85 per cent), Indian Hume Pipe Company (up 5.61 per cent), India Cements (up 5.35 per cent), Sanghi Industries (up 5.32 per cent), APCL (up 5.04 per cent), Rain Industries (up 4.99 per cent), Keerthi Industries (up 4.95 per cent), IFGL Refractories (up 4.73 per cent), NCL Industries (up 4.72 per cent), Saurashtra Cement (up 4.40 per cent), Prism Johnson (up 3.98 per cent) surged around 4-5 per cent.

Everest Industries (up 3.62 per cent), Andhra Cements (up 3.51 per cent), Burnpur Cement (up 3.50 per cent), Orient Refractories (up 3.09 per cent), The Ramco Cements (up 3.07 per cent), ACC (up 2.61 per cent), Gujarat Sidhee Cement (up 2.26 per cent), Deccan Cements (up 2.14 per cent), Birla Corporation (up 2.10 per cent), Shree Cement (up 2.02 per cent), HIL (up 1.99 per cent) too were witnessing strong gains.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 119.50 points up at 10,668.65 while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 383.89 points at 35,533.9 at 12:05 pm.

Hero MotoCorp (up 5.21 per cent), Tata Motors (up 4.93 per cent), YES Bank (up 4.75 per cent), Indiabulls Housing Finance (up 3.91 per cent) and Tata Steel (up 3.64 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
