Share market update: Cement stocks bullish; Udaipur Cements jump 9%

NEW DELHI: Cement stocks were trading on a positive note in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of Udaipur Cement Works Ltd (up 8.35 per cent), Sanghi Industries (up 8.21 per cent), Gujarat Sidhee Cement (up 7.78 per cent), Prism Johnson (up 7.23 per cent), Deccan Cements (up 6.75 per cent), NCL Industries (up 6.13 per cent), Saurashtra Cement (up 5.91 per cent) and Orient Cement Ltd (up 5.55 per cent) were among the top gainers.

JK Lakshmi Cement (up 5.08 per cent), Shiva Cement (up 4.97 per cent), India Cements (up 4.92 per cent), KCP (up 4.56 per cent), Star Cement (up 4.39 per cent), Heidelberg Cement India (up 4.26 per cent), Shree Digvijay Cement (up 4.25 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 4.07 per cent), ACC (up 3.93 per cent), Ambuja Cements (up 3.78 per cent), Kakatiya Cements Sugar & Industries (up 3.61 per cent) and Mangalam Cement (up 3.52 per cent) were the other gainers among cement stocks.


While Burnpur Cement (down 4.49 per cent), Shri Keshav Cements (down 3.45 per cent), Andhra Cements (down 1.96 per cent), Anjani Portland Cement (down 1.49 per cent) and Keerthi Industries (down 0.79 per cent) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty-50 index was trading 75.50 points up at 12258.0, while the 30 shares BSE Sensex was up 243.22 points at 41549.24 at around 01:08 pm.
