Share market update: BSE Utilities index up; A2Z Infra gains 3%

The S&P BSE Utilities index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 1826.47.

NEW DELHI: The BSE Utilities index was trading on a positive note in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Nava Bharat Ventures (up 8.94 per cent), RTN Infra (up 4.89 per cent), KSK Energy Ventures (up 3.51 per cent), A2Z Infra (up 3.11 per cent), GMR Infrastructure (up 3.1 per cent), Orient Green Power Company (up 2.56 per cent), Adani Transmissions (up 2.33 per cent), JSW Energy (up 2.24 per cent) and GVK Power & Infrastructure (up 1.78 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Reliance Infrastructure (down 4.92 per cent), Reliance Power (down 3.98 per cent), Jaiprakash Power Ventures (down 3.06 per cent), Indian Energy (down 2.23 per cent), Mahanagar Gas (down 0.61 per cent) and Gujarat State Petronet (down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE Utilities index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 1826.47 around 12:57 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty-50 index was up 83.95 points at 12077, while the BSE Sensex was up 289.43 points at 40966.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Welspun India, Bajaj Finance, YES Bank, TV18 Broadcast, Tata Motors, SAIL, SBI, ITI Ltd and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
