Share market update: BSE Smallcap index up; IG Petrochem surges 18%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Smallcap index was trading in the positive zone in Monday's morning session.

Shares of IG Petrochemicals (up 18.17 per cent), Bhansali Engineering Polymers (up 15.03 per cent), Monte Carlo Fashions (up 12.6 per cent), Bhartiya International (up 9.98 per cent) and Tejas Network (up 9.98 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Suzlon Energy (down 7.07 per cent), Talwalkars Healthclubs (down 5.0 per cent), Seya Industries (down 4.99 per cent), Reliance Naval and Engineering (down 4.98 per cent) and Mohota Industries (down 4.96 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.58 per cent up at 13626.01 around 10:50 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 27.30 points at 12273.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 108.18 points at 41683.32.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Spicejet, Vakrangee and Indiabulls Housing Finance were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
