Share market update: BSE Smallcap index rises; DFM Foods surges 15%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Smallcap index was trading with gains in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of DFM Foods (up 15.32 per cent), Inox wind (up 13.4 per cent), V2 Retail (up 11.52 per cent), Control Print (up 9.22 per cent), Shivalik Bimetal Controls (up 8.87 per cent), Punjab Chemicals and Crop Protection (up 8.69 per cent), Wim Plast (up 8.14 per cent), Time Technoplast (up 7.71 per cent), India Tourism Dev Corp (up 7.62 per cent) and Nelcast (up 7.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Centrum Capital (down 6.41 per cent), Shreyas Shipping & Logistics (down 6.16 per cent), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers (down 5.89 per cent), Nahar Industrial Enterprises (down 5.79 per cent), Patel Engineering (down 5.76 per cent), Cox & Kings (down 5.0 per cent), RTN Infra (down 5.0 per cent), Peninsula Land (down 5.0 per cent), Adani Green (down 4.98 per cent) and Capital Trust (down 4.97 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.64 per cent up at 14475.61 around 12:13 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty-50 index was down 68.35 points at 12293.95, while the BSE Sensex was 242.23 points at 41710.4.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NBCC , SAIL, NCC, JSPL, Ambuja Cements, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Trident Ltd and Kotak Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
