Share market update: BSE Smallcap index advances; GPIL surges 13%

NEW DELHI: BSE Smallcap index was trading in the green in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Godawari Power & Ispat (up 12.91 per cent) , Axiscades Engineering Technologies (up 12.51 per cent) , Marathon (up 9.5 per cent) , Jaypee Infratech (up 9.26 per cent) , Patel Engineering (up 9.2 per cent) ,) were among the top gainers.

While GGPL (down 5.86 per cent) , A2Z Infra (down 5.84 per cent) , Star Paper Mills (down 5.41 per cent) , Sintex Industries (down 5.0 per cent) , , Reliance Naval and Engg (down 4.92 per cent) , were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.28 per cent up at 13431.82 around 09:53 am .

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 22.95 points at 12187.95 , while the BSE Sensex was up 89.13 points at 41441.3.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, Tata Motors, SAIL, HCL Tech, Bank of Baroda, JSPL and NCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
